HOLA!
We are not your typical, boring and snobby wine
we are young, fresh and fun
a new take at the wine world that lets you express who you truly are
life would be pretty boring if we were, all the same
DOMUS PILANDRO
Domus Pilandro was erected in San Martino della Battaglia around the late 15th and early 16th centuries. In 1980, this historic dwelling in the heart of the Lugana region was acquired by the Lavelli family along with seventeen acres of vineyards, thereby continuing an age-old tradition of winemaking. Pilandro wines have deep roots in their terroir, and from it they receive their distinctly rich flavor. To keep this inviolable bond intact, the grapes are handled with the great respect they deserve and processed in a manner completely free of oxygen. Fermentation, then, is done under controlled temperature as must, thereby bringing out all of the most intense characteristics and well defined aromas of each wine.
Today, the name Pilandro serves to identify a business of international scope, one that is recognized throughout the world of wine for both excellence and a desire to dare and to innovate constantly.
The strong relationship between the Avanzi family and their land led to the creation of the family business in 1931. This tradition all began when the founder, Giovanni Avanzi, obtained an excellent red wine from the grapes of the region of Lake Garda and the tradition has continued with his sons, Gianpietro and Alessandro. Today, the sons and grandchildren are keeping the tradition alive with the same passionate spirit, devotion, loving care and quality that have become synonymous with the name Avanzi.
The varietals that are part of Pokhara are located in Rama Caída, San Rafael, in the south of Mendoza province, Argentina.
They grow in a small farm of 66 acres, located 240 km from the Andes Mountains, which feed these vineyards with their snow
melt waters.

The Pokhara Wine line is a reflection of its origin, of the harmonious relationship that exists between the parts that form the whole.
With this line we intend to create a romance with those who taste it, and make them enjoy a young, fresh and authentic wine.
When in late nineteenth century Pietro great-grandfather left his hometown of Rosciolo, Italy, to venture the conquest of a better future, he did not bring in his suitcase more than determination and passion for winemaking. And to settle in Cafayate, Argentina, land of grapevines and good sun, marked forever the fate of us, his descendants.
Two of his sons, Benjamín Andrés and Pedro Moisés, followed his footsteps. With tenacity and work, they took over the management of the traditional winery “El Tránsito” in 1942.
Directed by them with great success the winery ““El Tránsito” used to be also the home of Benjamín and there, some of his children were born, including my father Benjamín Raúl.
In late 1952, following their innovative nature, Benjamín and Pedro decided to move the winery to a new facility.
Years later the old winery ““El Tránsito“, wrapped in whispers of elves, took the name” Bodega Encantada“ becoming forever the scenario of Serenata to Cafayate Festival. Today, it is also the premises for the Museum of Wine.
After my grandfather and his brother passed, my father took over the management of the family winery for many years, absorbing all the experience and memories of the old winery, its smells, and remembrances.
In 2004, emulating the experience of our grandparents, we started the project to bring the winery “El Tránsito” to the twenty one century and the fourth family generation, with the objective of maintaining the excellence of our wines. While bringing the latest technology in winemaking, our goal is to perpetuate and keep the quality of our wines, keeping and respecting our family tradition.
And particularly, as member of the fourth generation, I hope to became part of this story and, as well as my father and my grandparents, make my descendants proud of our family history.
